Migrate Plug in Preference Files

workman

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've been using Logic 9 (OS 10.8.5) and am now migrating to a new Mac (Mavericks) and at the same time upgrading to Logic X. I plan to do a fresh install of Logic X, all third party plug ins and Virtual Instrument Libraries; then drag all Project Folders over.

However, I'm not sure how to migrate the user-defined preferences that I've created within Plugins (both Logic and Third Party). (Plugin User Preference files?) I can't find them. Can anyone please advise me on how to do this? I hope to not have to recreate them all!!!

Many thanks.

It varies depending on the plugin.

Often they stick them in the user preferences folder, sometimes it's in an appsupport/company folder, sometimes it's elsewhere.

As long as you backup the drive you'll be able to recover any files off it you missed after you do the upgrade...
