create multi out instrument tracks

So I want to create a multi track to multi-channel setup with all tracks routing their midi to the same VI on different midi channels and I want to do it in one step :)

For example add instrument track for Omnisphere all 8 stereo outs. 8 channels would be created with their respective midi channels starting on 1 proceeding to 8, there would be 8 different audio channels created. I would be able to mute, solo, change vol faders etc independently.

I thought I saw a video where as much could be done with drummer but can't seem to find the current best way to do this in LPX.

thanks

Ok, so then it seems that to first set this up, I do need to send the tracks outs to aux channels, LPX apparently will set the midi when creating a multi timbral instrument etc.

Funny I remember that Reaper would just set this up in a snap, surprised that LPX does not have it as a core feature.

Being able to save it as a patch would be a pretty good work around

thanks

Hi,

So I want to create a multi track to multi-channel setup with all tracks routing their midi to the same VI on different midi channels and I want to do it in one step

For example add instrument track for Omnisphere all 8 stereo outs. 8 channels would be created with their respective midi channels starting on 1 proceeding to 8, there would be 8 different audio channels created. I would be able to mute, solo, change vol faders etc independently.

It's easy to do, but not in a single step (unless you save a patch as was already suggested):

1-Create a single, normal (no need to click the multi-timbral box) software instrument track.

2-Load the multi-out version of Omnisphere.

3-Create all aux channels you need for the instrument's multiple outputs by clicking the plus sign that's above the solo button in the mixer.

4-Select these aux channels and hit Control-T (Create tracks for selected channel strips).

Now you'll have tracks, each with their own MIDI channel assignment, the ability to record/edit MIDI in each one as well as solo, mute faders, etc.

You could stack them all in a Summing Track Stack and save it as patch in your library for later recall.
