leeguirado
I am chopping up a drum loop sample, by slicing its transients then putting it into the EXS24 editor. My Question is, is there a way to get rid of the clicky sound that comes from some of the audio hits in the loop? When i take some hits out, it leaves others with an audible click sound. Any way around this? Thanks
Atlas007
Have you tried adjusting the fade parameter?
leeguirado
Yes, after i have sliced the transients i put a 'fade out' on it, but the click is still there
Eric Cardenas
Fades are non destructive and won't affect the actual audio file that you then are using in EXS. What you want to do is to apply fades to your regions first then bounce them in place before you add them to EXS. OR... You can open the offending zone in the Audio File Editor and use a destructive fade. Remember that you are then working with the original file so it may be a good thing to create a backup of the file.
leeguirado
ahhh ok, thanks Eric. So you mean apply an individual fade to each drum hit, then bounce individually?
Eric Cardenas
Yes. Either that or just the offending regions. Or use fades in the Audio File Editor. Or make sure that the region starts at a zero crossing but that's not always possible if you are using stereo files.
