How to remove a Control Surface from Logic X 10.1

I recently upgraded to Logic X 10.1 from Logic 9. My Novation Impulse 49 was working fine with 9, but i am having difficult time getting it to work with 10.1.1. At this point, i want to delete the 3 existing "mixers" from my failed attempts to connect the novation, but cant figure out how to go about doing this. Any help on deleting the previous versions would be great! Also, if anyone has had any luck getting an impulse 49 to work with 10.1, I would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance for any help.

Go to the Control surface setup window, click on the device you want to remove, press your backspace key to delete it.

Here's the kicker, i have no control surfaces listed under "control surface setup" but when i go to add one it says there is already one named automap (#1, 2, and 3 from my failed attempts) and i have no additional ID's to use. the only one i see is a "RECORDING LIGHT" icon, and for some reason it wont delete.

Frustrating!

Since I just bought the new Mac, Logic, and controller this weekend I may wipe everything and start fresh, but i am open to any and all suggestions.

Finder > Go > (hold down OPTION to reveal) Library > Preferences > com.apple.logic.cs.

"cs" stands for "Control Surface." This is your preferences file. If you like, copy it to another folder (and rename it) for archival purposes... but it sounds like it's useless to you. Then delete it from the Preferences folder.

When you re-launch Logic, it will create a new, blank control surface preference file. I can't imagine automaps surviving this, though I am not a tech guru.

After a factory reset of my mac and fresh install of everything my impulse 49 is somewhat working. for some reason it says their is no device connected, but the controls work for the most part. i am hopeful that a driver update will fix some of these issues. To get back to the original topic. the only way i was able to remove automap from logic (so it wouldn't recognize it as a "control surface/mixer") was to to do the full reset as stated above.
