Atlas007
Stuck notes are often symptom of a MIDI loop...

Atlas007
i dont know how to diagnose a midi loop, Not easy to trouble shoot...yes im using a midi interface to connect my external gearWhich gear (bradn/model)? If you are using a hardware synth, check in its MIDI settings for Local Off.You could also check if the NoteOff events are issued by your keyboard (check in Logic's transport LCD, or via a Monitor object in the Environment). Perhaps it could be the drivers (required by some gears) which are not up to date. Providing your system' specs as stipulated in Board Rule #5 could help us help you... digitaltracks
i added my equipment to my signature as requested. Roland Fantom is connected to Motu Midi Express 128, latest drivers are installed on the Motu Midi Express. Local Control is Off on the Fantom Motu Midi Express is going through a USB 2.0 hub (i have also tried directly into the USB ports on my iMac)
RedBaron
Are the missing note offs actually being sent to your MIDI driver? snoize: MIDI Monitor
digitaltracks
im not sure about the note offs being sent.. i tried snoize when i play one note yes i believe the note off is being sent but when i play multiple notes (when the stuck notes are happening) its difficult for me to diagnose, thanks for your suggestion
RedBaron
Have you tried a different synth? Another thing you could try is plugging your MIDI output back into a MIDI input on your MIDI interface, and monitor that MIDI input in MIDI monitor (this creates a MIDI loopback - make sure you don't have any tracks record enabled in Logic to avoid further feedback). That will tell you if the MIDI note offs are actually leaving the MIDI interface (monitoring a MIDI output with MIDI monitor just tells you that the driver received the outgoing message, but doesn't prove that the message was actually sent from the MIDI port).
