otakon
Recently acquired this new setup. As the rMBP has only 2 usb ports, I got a transcend usb hub. It is a powered hub. i.e external power. The adapter for the usb hub says it can deliver 12V/1.5A. The launchkey has 9V/100mA written next to the adaptor jack. So that means the usb hub should be technically able to power the midi keyboard right? But it doesnt turn on when plugged to the hub. It does however power on when plugged straight to the usb port on the macbook. Does anyone here have a similar setup? Should i try to get anothe usb hub perhaps? Eric Cardenas
Is it a USB2 hub or USB3 hub?
otakon
Yes it is a usb 3 hub . Here's a link to the website http://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-402. Funnily enough a smaller 25 key alesis q25 works ok on it. I see that we have the similarly specced macbooks. What hub ru using for ur setup? Should i get another usb hub maybe? Eric Cardenas
I would try using a USB2 hub to see if there's some mismatch happening due to the different protocols. I have a "no name" USB2 hub and also my Dell's display USB3 hub.
