Tzakiel
I have just hooked up my 1990s yamaha keyboard to a usb MIDI adapter and it seems to technically work ok. Shows up in MIDI studio and MIDI monitor shows key inputs note on and note off... Except one odd thing. When I press hard on the keyboard I get a note and the instrument sounds in logic. But anything less then medium force, any light or engle keys pressed don't seem to register with the computer. So as I play some notes just don't get transferred if they are lightly pressed. Trying to figure out if this is a configuration thing, my cheap MIDI USB adapter, or my old yamaha keyboard. The keyboard itself seems fine, I hear the soft notes from light presses on it but not the computer. I use a MacBook pro and logic, with a sanoxy usb in out USB adapter cable. Eric Cardenas
It's probably the cheap adapter. Try one of these instead: Amazon.com: Roland UM-ONE MK2 USB MIDI Interface: Musical Instruments
Tzakiel
Realized last night that it works perfectly for all "usual" instruments. This behavior only happens on my au instrument for magical 8bit plugin. Can instruments have some sort of threshold to activate? It does register a tiny sound but not really audible. Then there is a big leap to audible.
Eric Cardenas
Ah... that's great. You can always change the dynamics in the inspector. Try +50 on the velocity parameter.
