Delete transient marker

hmm i did see that page and I tried those but i dont think thats what I want, at least they are not doing what I want. When i double click the marker it gets rid of the highlighted one but the is still a transient marker that is a duller color there. When I click an adjacent marker and move it, it uses the one i tried to delete again. Not sure if I explained that clearly.

And almost four years later I have the question as well! So I can't seem to erase the transient (dotted line) markers either. Whether I'm in the tracks view or the file window, I can't get the dotted line to go away. I want it gone because it's being placed in the middle of a waveform. Attached a screenshot!

I answered my own question here. I needed to go to "File" view in the editor window, and then click the flex editing tool in that view. Initially, no markers appear in the file editor view.
