Christopher11
Hello friends. As the thread title states, I've got a project I need to open in LPX, folder copied over from my Logic Pro 7 days. I've done this several times now with no problem, but for some reason, Logic crashes before it will open. It seems to be on the part where it says ...Loading EXS Instruments... though I'm not sure if that's the issue. It shouldn't be; hasn't been before. I tried going in and unfreezing anything that was frozen in Logic 7, and also removing anything with UAD card plug ins since I don't have those on my new MacBook... but no dice. Anyway, LPX has opened similar files before. Any suggestions on how to get this opened are greatly appreciated. Thank you. I've got to get this song ready for a vocalist. Composer14464
I've had some problems opening older files as well. They seem to crash when loading Kontakt for me. I usually just keep trying and eventually Logic X manages to open the project without crashing. I think that it remembers the new location of the Kontakt samples it crashed on before, and then gets a little further in opening the project each time... Sorry I don't have anything else for you. Christopher11
hi Composer. Thanks so much for responding. Yeah, I thought it might be related to a soft synth of some kind. I tried disabling all plugins, and the MMV soft synth, and saving the project that way. I think it's probably related to something like that. Still no luck. Thanks again man. Eric Cardenas
Hi Christopher. Try using the Import function in Logic Pro X. Open the All Files Browser and navigate to your old project. Double click on it and try importing 50% of the tracks. If that works try the next 50% and so on.
angelonyc
did you try shutting off audio engine, loading the song?...Then reset all instruments plug-ins to 'nothing', turn on audio engine, and create new instruments for the midi tracks.. not ideal solution.. but I've used it in emergencies.. In the old days (Logic 7, I would run into a lot of "-EOF" errors.. (end of file marker is corrupted).. This would happend not a lot, but it got to the point where I stopped using EXS.. I don't know why it happened.. Never on Kontatk instruments..
