iTosaf
The message i'm getting Hi everyone! I'm having a BIG issue here and need your help. I created a 10 hour project using: Logic X 10.1.1, OS X 10.11 and iMac 5K 4GHZ m295x 8GB ram Fusion Drive 3TB. Every time i'm trying to bounce the project, i get the message: "The bounce file exceeds the maximum file size (AIFF 2 GB; WAV 4 GB). Please change the format to CAF, or decrease the bounce range." I tried all the "Bounce" options and file types and nothing works. The project made of 3 24bit audio files. I tried to bounce it using 16bit wave, 320kbps MP3, Loose-less Apple format and nothing helps. https://youtu.be/oSy2iyQlIXw Any ideas? Thanx in advance. Atlas007
For Pete's sake! 10 hours!? Wazzat?
Eric Cardenas
Don't use 16-bit! Using 16-bit will make Logic try to first bounce 24-bit (AIF) then truncate to 16-bit (CAF) If you let stay at 24-bit you should be able to bounce more than 10 hours. iTosaf
Yes, but the problem is that no other hardware besides my computer, plays 24bit files..
Eric Cardenas
If you leave PCM at CAF 24 you should be able to add the mp3 option. Check PCM and MP3! I have not tried it but it should work.
David Nahmani
Yes, but the problem is that no other hardware besides my computer, plays 24bit files.. I suppose you could truncate it to 16 bits afterwards. From the Project Audio Browser, choose Audio > Copy/Convert Audio Files.
iTosaf
Just tried to bounce in 24bit and still the same problem..
triplets
Practical question if you don't mind me asking: What is this for that you need 10 hours of music or sounds straight?
David Nahmani
Just tried to bounce in 24bit and still the same problem.. You have to make sure you're bouncing your file directly and not having Logic creating a temp file first, because it cannot create a temp file that big. So make sure you're using the same sample rate as your project is using, and make sure Normalize is OFF in your Bounce dialog.
iTosaf
Triplets - Right now i'm working on a pink noise sound masking project with subliminal messages thats designed dynamically for 10 hour shifts with respect to time of a day tasks etc.. It is easier to implement 1 long file to the system than few short ones. I'm using Logic as sound filtering/manipulation software and not for making music only.. Anyhow i don't understand why such a professional software should have those length issues. Can you try creating and bouncing 10 hour project on your system and let me know if there is the same issue? David Nahmani - I just created a new 24bit project, set it up as CAF and tried bouncing it as CAF 24bit and still the same issue.. The question is if thats my settings related or it has something to do with Logic X / OS X file system compatibility? Thanx guys for the help. iTosaf
Everyone, thank you for your help. I just reinstalled Logic X and now i am able to bounce all the project to CAF 16 and 24 bit. Still the other option do the error. That is very annoying to use another software just to convert it to a smaller format. Hope apple will fix this issue some day.
