Nola111
Last night, when trying to open LPX (for the first time in a week or so) it started re-scanning all my plugins (it said 505 total to scan) then after about a minute or so it crashed. Then, try to start it up again, and this time it says 306 total plugins to scan, and again after a minute it crashes. If I abort the scan, LPX will start, but of course none of my plugins are active. The two things that have changed on my system in the last week: 1. I upgraded from OS X 10.10.4 to 10.10.5. 2. I updated my ilok with several new licenses and updated the ilok software to the latest. The ilok software has been exhibiting some strange behavior since the update - like showing my ilok has having zero licenses, even though they're there and other DAW's see them. Any ideas on why it suddenly needs to re-scan all my plugins, why the number of plugins seems to change, and what I can do to get everything back in good order? Is this a case where I should trash Preferences? If so could someone specify the filename and path of the file(s) I should trash? Thanks. Eric Cardenas
The cache file for AU cache regarding Logic Pro X is here: ~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache/com.apple.audiounits.cache
Nola111
Thanks Eric. And it's safe to delete this file, right? It will just force Logic to "start over" with indexing the plugins, right?
Eric Cardenas
Exactly. If you run into problems try to see which plug-in that is failing.
Nola111
Ok thanks so much for your help. Yes I did try and catch that when it crashed but I could not tell - the list was scrolling very fast as it crashed and did not appear to hang up on any one plugin. I'll see if the above fixes it.
