Record an AU/plugin from other manufacturer within logic X

Hey everyone!

I'm new here, so this might be a noob question.

I want to record the sound generated by a plugin instrument within logic.

So I installed some plugins (like the arturia minimoog, fabfilter twin 2).

I open logic, add a track, choose software instrument. Then I select the plugin as an instrument.

The user interface of the minimoog pops up, and when I use my midi controller (or mouse on the keys in the UI) I hear sound and see the volume bars moving in the track, so far so good.

Now when I press record, nothing happens, no midi region is created.

What am I doing wrong?

Make sure that you click with your mouse the synth track/instrument you want to record to highlight it. then press record and move the knobs.

not sure to understand: "and see the volume bars moving in the track"

Do you want to record a volume automation or some parameters of the synth?

Where are you pressing record?

If you click on the [R] button on a track, it simply arms the track and prepares for recording.

You need to click on the Record button in the Control Bar (top of the Main Window) or use the key command for Record.

Does your bar display change?

Give us more info....
