How to move all automation data at once on a bus track

Is there a simple way to move all automation data in one time on a bus track in the arrange?

I know data will be moved when you move regions, but how do you move data when there are no regions like on a bus track?

Also when i move all regions in a sond to create a gap for inserting more bars, the automation data on the bus track doesn't move along.

Anybody knows the trick to do this ?

Thanx

Shift-drag the arrow tool to rubber-band select the nodes.

They turn white.

Click-drag.

More details in the LP reference, pp. 324-325.

But I have a question: how do you have both parameters showing simultaneously? I can move only one active parameter at a time.

HTH.

They show all when you make the screen bigger, (zoom in)...but i (still) can't select all and move.

Yeah,..i know how to move data from only one parameter, but that's not my question...i want to know how to move ALL data from ALL track automation parameters.

A little trick from a friend is,...just create one big freaking region on the bus track,....cut and move as you want as all data moves with the regions.

This way is also good to keep the data in the right positions as your moving complete blocks.

But i want to know if there's a way without creating a region

there is a "transparency" setting in with the automation view parameters. It allows you to adjust how much you see of the automation parameters other than the one you that have selected.

hope that is of some help.

there is a "transparency" setting in with the automation view parameters....

It took some searching and playing around until I found it mentioned on p. 315 in the Reference, and only then did I realize I had to zoom in more for this to kick in.

Very helpful. Thanks!

It was mentioned on this page too,...

But still nobody ? move all automation data is one time ? :?:

Right — maybe more precisely, I should have said earlier that I hadn't zoomed in enough, and I just had to keep going.

Not my original post -- I don't care about moving it all at once so much, but I definitely like having a clearer view of multiple parameters simultaneously.

Be sure to check preference > display > arrange > automation transparency > other data set to left.

And if someone could also tell me how to toggle between parameter selections.

And if someone could also tell me how to toggle between parameter selections.

The expanding menu shows all the parameters you're using. Once you select one, clicking in the automation area will place a node as usual, which you can move or re-click to delete). It ignores all the others, though they're visible. In this shot attached, on track 12 I selected 3 ChanEQ: Peak 4 Gain and clicked at -11.5.

The color of the automation helps distinguish groups: my volume is yellow, my five ringshifter parameters are all blue, and this sole ChanEQ is white.

I know how to select and switch between in the menu,...but i'm looking for a function or keycommand,...something like "N" for "select next automation parameter"

There are three ways to move all automation data simultaneously...

A1. Set L and R locators to encompass the length of the automation data you want to shift.

A2. Click on the track and using a key command, open the automation event editor. If your SPL happens to be within L & R values, use "catch" to bring those events into view. (Or scroll the event editor, or, use another key command -- go to selection -- to see it)

A3. Using normal mouse click/hold/scroll technique in the automation event editor, move the data.

Second way (potentially dangerous*)

B1: Open the automation event editor and then CMD-1 to open the automation arrange page.

B2: Find the automation track in question and shift the region containing all the automation data.

* = because working directly with automation data can sometimes produce unpredictable results; still, might be worth a try.

Third way:

C1: Create a blank region on a track assigned to that bus (or whatever) and stretch the region to be as long (or longer) than the track itself

C2: Using the automation commands under the Option menu, "move" all automation data to region data

C3: Shift the region as needed. Then use the reverse automation option, "move" all region data back to automation data

I think this third way is the best, the savest and the most simple way to move all data,....i already mentioned that.

But do you know how to switch between the parameters with 1 simple keycommand,.....change selection without using the flipmenu?

Thanx for your reaction
