Duncan Alldridge
Hi! I am importing audio files into Logic via itunes and am having problems with an .m4p file. All the .m4a files convert fine. The icon on the desktop appears 'locked' with a padlock in the corner. I can't get Logic can't convert this to an audio file. Can anyone help here? Thanks! gertvanhoof
Hi, The files you're trying to import are DRM-protected, such as the ones you can buy at the iTunes Music Store. As a result, you'll have to "re-record" the files one way or another in order to be able to use them. You might use Soundflower or Jack to route iTunes' output channels into Logic and record directly to a Logic track, or you can use an app such as Audio Hijack (Pro) to capture the stream. Others may correct me, but as far as I'm aware, no Mac-compatible offline conversion utility is able to cope with m4p files (yet). Best regards, Gert
