Stacio
I have very little knowledge or experience scoring in logic. That being said, I see that the transport displays chord symbols as a midi track is being recorded. is there a way to get those chord symbols displayed in the scoring window? Thanks
volovicg
No not in version 10. (it was available in Logic 9 though ) However chord entry is pretty fast and easy after you enter your first chord - just press the tab key (repeatedly if necessary) to advance to the next note for chord entry - type it in and continue. You an do a whole song fairly quickly this way..
volovicg
BTW - if this is important to you. One possible workflow would be to import your midi file into Logic 9, do the automatic chord insertion, save the project and open in Logic 10 to continue. Here is how it works in Logic 9. Stacio
Thanks that is a big help, I'll open the midi file in 9 so they did away with the chord track completely in LPX?
volovicg
after playing with this a little bit - I suggest you not attempt to use it. There seems to be a link between global chord tracks and transposition and I think this will be more burdensome than it is worth. I would go back to my original suggestion and just do it manually..... In 9 I could not delete the chord track without it deleting the score meta data. So I believe you will get unpredictable results in Logic X given the feature was removed. Highly recommend not using it at all.
