problems with midi in

Hi I still have troubles with midi in.

 

midi step input keyboard works fine, where you can define the length of notes.

But in earlier stages of logic there was also the possibility of using only the piano roll with the red set input sign on in the left corner. and still defining the note length by numbers up to one bar length. this option is not working anymore. further logic ahas the flaw of sometimes refusing to register your midi input unless you press the midi in red button in the list window for several seconds. then it works again, but the if you leave that region and go to the next you have to repeat the procedure. It never starts out like that, but in certain sessions it just happens at random, but once there, stays.

 

any idea?

Hit (Command+4) to open up a float Piano Roll. Click the Red MIDI In button, and it works as normal.

 

You can use a float step input window to adjust note length as you input in the piano roll with your controller.
