Workflow for tempo changes when scoring film

I use Logic Pro X primarily for scoring short films, and I'm curious if there is a way to "freeze" where MIDI tracks or specific bars are, while being able to change tempos earlier in the score. I come from Pro Tools, and am recently trying Logic and figuring out a new workflow for music specifically.

It's a bit confusing, but for example if I do the score and I'm happy with the end of it, and the last part starts on a specific cue I need to keep, but I need to make a tempo adjustment to the middle of the score, is there a way to do that without shifting the end of the track?

I'm mostly curious if there's a specific way to do this. I imagine there's a few ways to fudge it, such as freezing the tracks themselves, bouncing down the bits I like, or simply playing with the tempo in a stretch of silence to line it back up again, but they all take a bit of time, or if I freeze the track and need to change something later, I imagine that makes it difficult.

Any help or advice in this matter would be much appreciated. Sorry if it seems like a silly or confusing question. Thanks!

Other than sticking in beats, or removing them to compensate for the earlier tempo change, the only way I can think of doing what your want is to bounce the last part and then "Lock SMPTE Position". Of course, there then may be "feel issues" depending on the type of music since the beat grid will now be ignored over the SMPTE position. How about splitting them up into two different cues?
