bengomisthebomb
Hello, I'm back and I'm still perfecting my kick drum skills... So I have a kick drum, tuned to G (according to the creator), and I'm trying to tune it to A sharp have a few questions. 1] Is it easier and more sufficient to tune a kick from A to A sharp? 2] My kick drum (tuned to G) has it's root note, according to the analyser is at 53.00 hertz, but according to a hertz to key chart, comes out between G sharp and A. What's up here? Thanks
David Nahmani
I would recommend you use your ears, and not a tuner or a frequency analyzer for this. If you cannot clearly hear the pitch of your kick, then your efforts are moot anyway. Many percussion sounds do not have a clear pitch, so you can always pitch shift them, but you're not really tuning anything. When percussion sounds have a clear pitch, you should be able to tune them by ear.
