Using Logic X on two computers

I would like to be able to work on Logic X on my Macbook Pro at home and then go into my studio and work on my iMac there and load the same Logic file. I would like to keep all of the same settings and files the same between them. Could I move my "Audio Music Apps" folder to an external drive to achieve this? The projects could also be saved on the external drive.

All my plugins will be hosted in VEP5 on a PC (which I just purchased) which I would be hauling back and forth. I am currently using the iMac as a slave machine but this will change with the new setup. So I would have two masters at two different locations (iMac and Macbook Pro) and one slave (the new PC).

How could I make this work?

I'm not sure how to do that.

Here you go: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202796

Would I have to uninstall/reinstall anything? Could I still boot the normal way when using other apps?

No need to uninstall anything, but you'll have to reinstall Logic (and any media content) on the new bootable drive. You'll still be able to boot the normal way to use other apps.

Thanks for the help! That link is great too! I think I'd like to pursue this.

So just to be clear, I don't need to uninstall Logic anywhere. Just setup the bootable drive, install the OS, install Logic. Then copy my old "Audio Music Apps" folder to an external bootable drive and replace the folder there?

Then I would be able to boot up from either machine and use Logic because it is installed on the external drive?

Yes to all. And since you're taking that hard drive with you, you're always working on Logic on that hard drive, so any changes you make to your Logic system (and to your songs) travel with you.
