gordon k
I'm having ongoing problems pasting groups of notes in the Piano Roll editor. The notes seem to cut or copy OK, but when I come to paste them, half the time Logic 9 deposits them at a completely different location in the piece, nowhere near the playhead. I haven't been able to find any pattern to when it will work correctly - or to whereabouts it will choose to paste the notes when it doesn't work. Can anyone shed any light on this behaviour? The user manual seems to suggest that notes in the clipboard will always be pasted to the playhead position, but it's certainly not working that way for me. Atlas007
Have you checked your snap setting?
gordon k
When I say it pastes at a different location from the playhead, I'm talking like 20 or 30 bars away - I don't think that could be the snap settings? I mean, if I knew it was a recognized bug in Logic 9 then I could stop worrying about it and just work around - but as it is I'm wondering if there are any parameters somewhere governing the paste behaviour that I can adjust... volovicg
This normally happens because you have shortened the region from the left leaving meta events that are being used internally ( albeit incorrectly). or your project start is before 1,1,1,1..... Or you have automation before the region or before the project start. Upload your project or track causing the problem if you can't figure it out... gordon k
Thanks for the pointers - I'm learning not to drag-shorten regions at all now, just scissor them and delete the excess bit. But I have volume automation at the start of most tracks, so automation before the region will usually be the case...
Atlas007
...But I have volume automation at the start of most tracks, so automation before the region will usually be the case... Have you tried creating an automation control point after 1 1 1 1, in those cases?
gordon k
When I create an automation point later, it seems to autocreate one at 1.1.1.1 , so there is always one at 1.1.1.
