dnbhallifax
Hi Folks, I'm running 10.2.1, OS X 10.9.5, 2012 Mac Pro... Recently a few projects have started causing Logic to crash upon opening them. (All using instruments and effects that have played nicely with my setup for quite sometime. This happened once or twice with 10.2 fairly recently as well..) No arrangement view or beach ball, just an immediate crash... This time when launching Logic the splash screen froze on "updating audio unit plugin information" dialog for about 5 minutes. Finally it looked like it was about to open and then threw up the message "Error initializing Core MIDI." Has anyone else experienced something like this, or have any insight as to what the error may indicate? Thanks!

n6smith
Did either of you use the rename function in the Plugin Manager? if so, try making sure any names you created/used are less than 11 Chars.... and see if that fixes things.
n6smith
Also there are multiple reports that Melodyne 4 (latest version) crashes LPX 10.2.1 with alarming regularity... especially on startup... No fix for this yet other than to not use / uninstall M4 or roll back to 10.2...
