ptdogg
I'm in the process of remixing a old Bee Gee's song. I want to add drum loops onto top of the song already..Just play around with it. Is beat mapping the only way to match tempos??..it's really hard. i can get it right for about 8 bars, then it starts to drift. I'll even fix it after that and it doesn't match. Any ideas what can help me add Logic's drum loops to a recorded song already. Thanks, Donald
Eric Cardenas
Beat map is the way to go. Which song is it? Does it have a clear beat?
ptdogg
it's "you should be dancing"..the main problem i have is that i have some loops already there and once i change the tempo via beat mapping, now my loops are off.. frustrating... :/
nogs
try chopping up the original song into pieces you can work with before they lose tempo. choose a few 8-bar parts of the song to loop. you can also flex time if you need to sync your sample with the beat. David Nahmani
once i change the tempo via beat mapping, now my loops are off.. Are those Apple Loops? If they are, then it sounds like you may be making mistakes while beat mapping (like mapping the wrong beat onto the wrong transient), resulting in the incorrect tempo map. If the tempo map created by beat mapping is correct then apple loops should sync perfectly.
