HowardMartyLP1
Noticed this happens when trying to open the Library pane(the Y key) or the menu item "Replace or Double Drum Track" on an existing Logic file. Thus, a file created before this update. I get the spinning beach ball, after it starts to open the library pane. Tried uninstalling Logic and re-installing. No avail. ??? David Nahmani
Interesting: Replace/Double Drums does automatically open the Library, so that and opening the library are related actions. So in essence, 10.2.1 has trouble opening the Library on a pre-10.2.1 project. Does it open then you get the beach ball? Or does it open halfway and then stops? Or does it never get a chance to open? Or does it stall for a while, then after a while it opens? The only thing I can think of is that 10.2.1 brought new symbols displayed to the right of items in the Library that have not yet been downloaded. I wonder if this could be related. Did you download all additional media content since 10.2.1?
HowardMartyLP1
Thanks for the reply. I chose the "Download additional content..." It downloaded 3+GB of sounds, but nothing else, as far as I can tell. I then quit Logic, restarted Logic and tried the Replace/Double Drum Track command and got the same thing. It starts to open the library pane but stops and freezes. I get the beach ball which never ends. I have to Force Quit.
David Nahmani
I would create a new user on your Mac and see if that new user has the same problem?
thepanthurr
I am having the same issue-- but it only occurs on one project-- and even without any plugins.
HowardMartyLP1
I created a new user. Same problem.
Eric Cardenas
Something must be off with the Logic folder in the main library. Could be a permission issue. Do you have everything installed on the system drive?
HowardMartyLP1
Yep. All the Logic files are on the system folder. All the audio/video files are on an external drive.
Eric Cardenas
Navigate to: Library/Application Support/Logic then Control-click and choose Get Info. Post a screenshot of the info window.
HowardMartyLP1
Get Info Here's a screenshot. It appears to be only in Logic projects created before 10.2.1 And it is the Library pane that's causing the freeze. The Replace or Double Drum Track command appears to attempt to open the Library pane first. Thus the freeze.
