Ace Baker
I want to set up a fader with values 1-16 that will transform the incoming MIDI from channel 1 to whatever channel is selected on the fader. I've got physical input cabled ---> fader ---> transformer ---> input view ----> sequencer input. How would I set the Status / Channel / Data Byte 1 / Data Byte 2 etc to do this? Thanks. David Nahmani
How would I set the Status / Channel / Data Byte 1 / Data Byte 2 etc to do this? Have the fader send the desired meta event (see viewtopic.php?f=5&t=715). There's no need to cable the physical input into the fader. Just cable the physical input into the transformer and cable the fader into the transformer as well.
Ace Baker
Thanks David. I cabled things as you suggest. I guess I don't know what my desired Meta event would be. I read the thread you linked, but it's about recording meta events on a track. I don't want to do that. How do I make changing the value on a fader transform the midi channel ? I need to know the values for all the parameters on the fader, and all the parameters in the transformer.
Eric Cardenas
Hi Ace! It's meta 127 you want to use. You can create it automatically buy choosing New > Fader > Specials > Transform Operations Par 1. Set the fader range to 0-15. I've used a Text fader so that 1 corresponds to 1 and so on but you can workaround this in numerous ways.
