mentismus
Hi. Who knows how to display D maj key signature instead of Do maj? Thank you
David Nahmani
Are you using a localized version of Logic? BTW Re Major = D Maj and Do Major = C Maj.
mentismus
Yes! Thank you. I've changed os language to English and got D maj =) Sad that I have to use english version of os though =)

blinkofani
If you're comfortable with that stuff, you can right-click the Logic icon in the App folder(when logic is closed) and click Open package. In the different folders there, you'll see «French» folders, you can remove them all. Logic will load in english while your OS is in French. You have to repeat it every time there's an update. I can't understand some of the translations they have when Logic is in French so i take 5 minutes every time and remove those folders!!! David Nahmani
I can't understand some of the translations they have when Logic is in French Yup, some of them are rather... creative. "piles de résumé" is completely missing the mark, like a typo was made when entering the original english term into an editor with auto-complete ("summary stack" ???), that was then fed into a bad auto-translator. Atlas007
I wonder if Apple actually hired a certified/professional translator? Although being natively french spoken (I know that is very obvious!), I too, prefer using the english version...
volovicg
You don't have to do any of that..... This setting (which is non-intuitive...I know) is in the File->Project Settings->Score->Chords and Grids..... A drop down called language ( which affects the "Musical Language") of how chords are displayed - (even in the transport) is set here. Change it to International and you should be all set.... Eric Cardenas
Here's a small script application you can use if you want to launch Logic Pro X in english without altering your OS X setting: Logic Pro X - English.zip
mentismus
Here's a small script application you can use if you want to launch Logic Pro X in english without altering your OS X setting: It doesn't work here Other thing that I've noticed, LCD would still show you Do chord (while you playing) instead of C chord. So it still uses language of the system for chords
Eric Cardenas
It should work on a new project from an empty template. If your project is already created it will use the setting that volovicg pointed to.

Eric Cardenas
Strange indeed. It works fine here. Are you starting from a custom template?
volovicg
To recap: 1/ OP was an issue with Key signature format - this is addressed in the score editor. No need for to mess with OS X language files. (done) 2/ Then it was pointed to that the chords (display) are same as system language ( that is correct) and there is no "optional setting" in Logic to affect this display to be something other than the system language 3/ Eric posted a script which "should" force logic to display in one language while the system (OS X ) is in another. I have not tested this - but this should be tried in support of #2 above. If it doesn't work then the chords are locked to the system language ( or through some other variable I am not aware of). I don't quite understand the statement "It doesn't work" here since this was said prior to identifying issue #2 and therefore the inference was with issue #1 - but issue #1 is solved in a different manner - see why I am confused Edit: So Eric - you confirmed the script ( plist write) works and the chords display in English even though the system is in another language....??? Eric Cardenas
So Eric - you confirmed the script ( plist write) works and the chords display in English even though the system is in another language....??? I made a script to change Logic Pro X to spanish and it displayed the Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Ti Do when playing chords.

mentismus
volovicg, by "it" I meant the script. It has no affect on the key signature format.
Eric Cardenas
Thanks mentimus. I tried it here now and you are totally right, it does not work when changing to English. Very strange that it does work the other way round?
mentismus
yes. maybe it would be much easier to create a template with the right language =) or I'll just keep using english system language, not a big deal)
