SideBMusic
I'm trying to understand a setting in Universal Audio's Control Panel, the "Force use of Logic Pro's live mode on tracks containing UAD plug-ins." I've read the description in the manual over and over and it is not sinking into my brain. What got me started was wondering if this would allow the UAD plug-ins to run via the Apollo Twin's interface and console rather than in Logic as a plug-in? UAD plug-ins use a lot of processing power in Logic. I know the plug-ins can be activated through the UAD Console, but I believe that means the incoming audio to Logic is being pre-processed with the plug-ins' effects. I would still want to be able to make adjustments to the tracks after recording.
triplets
UAD plugins always use the chip inside the Apollo to run. That setting is meant to reduce latency and applies only to PCIe and Thunderbolt interfaces.
SideBMusic
Got it. I do have a Thunderbolt connection, so if I ever have a latency problem...
shivermetimbers
Live mode: Use when playing a ReWire instrument live. This setting uses more processing resources, but has lower latency. UAD is processed in the UAD side of things and is sent to and from Logic. The more UAD plug ins you use, the more bandwidth you will need for things to go smoothly. check the settings in your UAD control panel and adjust for optimum usability.
