ellyllon
I have a part programmed in midi that I want to record/playback using a sound from my keyboard (yamaha s90). Right now I have a midi cable from my keyboard midi in connected to the usb on my computer, as well as an audio cable out from my keyboard into my interface. I have selected "external instrument". What is the next step? am i missing something?
woodenboy
Make sure that your keyboard is set to receive MIDI on the same channel that Logic is sending it. Other than that, I've had no problems sending MIDI out to my external keyboard.

woodenboy
Both! You need to look at your keyboard manual to work out how to set the receive channel, and set the MIDI channel on the track in Logic in the left hand side of the arrange page
