Pitch Bend is not working!!

I have had this problem for a while and I have found nothing on the internet.

I'm using Logic 9. I'm trying to use the Pitch Bend function that comes in the little menu in the bottom left corner of the Piano Roll. No matter what I do, when I play the music, it won't perform the bend.

(However, if I use the same menu and select the velocity, it will work if I tamper with it. So it's not a problem with the menu itself)

Here's a screenshot of it. As you can see, I have tampered with the pitch bend in all directions and ways. However, the music is still playing the same flat note.

Update: I just discovered something: Pitch Bend is not working with EXS Sampler Instruments, nor with Kontakt Sampler Instruments. So far, it only seems to work with Sculpture and EVP88 Samplers.

This sucks! I write a lot of music for Strings and I definitely need the Pitch Bend effect! But even that aside, the EXS and Kontakt Samplers are the two types I use the most!!

Make sure that you have a pitch bend range setup in the plug-in.

ETA: Took me a while but I found it on the EX24 sampler. However, I can't find the pitch range setup on the Kontakt Sampler. Any idea where that would be?

Many sampler instruments have this set to 0 as it isn't "possible" to pitch bend a real piano...

Actually, the pianos and organs are some of the instruments where the pitch bend does work! (Meaning, it is actually automatically set to work on them without me having to activate anything) Whereas, none of the string instruments (neither EX24 nor Kontakt) are set up to work. Seems to me kinda absurd.

Which instruments are we talking about here.

Do you use the full version of Kontakt or just player?

Yes, I was jut making a point.

Many piano libraries don't come with programable pitch.

Yes, I use the full version of Kontakt 5, which I gain access to through the I/O, and which includes all of the instruments in the orchestra, as well as World instruments.

As a test, whenever I chose an instrument, I would try moving the Pitch wheel on the Kontakt's virtual keyboard, and it will also have no effect on the sound (oddly though, there was a time it used to)

You have to set Pitch bend as a modulator.

Click on the little reach icon and add Pitch ben to modulate pitch:

Thank you. I appreciate your help and patience. However, there's still problems. I mean.... wow.... seriously, I gotta tell you, it feels as if the people who designed this, made sure to make it as complicated as possible. Even the article you linked shows how many obstacles Kontakt can present in the way of trying to do a simple pitch bend.

I followed every step of the article using the same Cello they were using in the example and it worked.

However, I tried with another instrument (The String Ensemble) and it just won't work. Not even if I hit the Bypass button in the Script Editor.

There seems to be a Pitch Bend editor but it makes no sense. It won't let me simply set the parameters so that the pitch goes up or down depending on which direction I pull the knob. Instead, it sets all these fixed parameters that basically, all they do is transpose the pitch to a new fixed location. In other words, that's not working as a pitch bend function at all. It's basically a transpose function, so that every time I hit D, it'll play E, for example. But the pitch bend wheel doesn't affect it at all.

This is getting seriously frustrating, I gotta say.
