IainPetrie
Can anyone explain this? My 2 bus is behaving like a master fader (cant put fx on it - although tried to by loading up a preset) , my master fader has FX, and both have a bounce button... Mixerjack
Most common cause is importing a caf file that causes a channel to automatically change to surround mode. Mixing surround and stereo outputs will automatically change your output inserts to look like your picture!
Eric Cardenas
You have 1 ore more tracks routed to the Surround Output. Open the Mixer and check if you can find it. If not click the All tab in the Mixer and see if your Pre Listening channel is set to Surround.
stardustmedia
Interesting... I didn't know that surround master channel cannot handle plugins? Isn't that totally stupid, e.g. how would you then use a surround meter plugin for the master signal? You can use a buss, yes, but if a surround buss can handle plugins, why shouldn't a master channel?
Eric Cardenas
The Surround Master has plug-in slots.

Mixerjack
Echoing above; it's because there is surround data being routed to a stereo output. It's really a bit of silly programming!

stardustmedia
Yes, that's what I would have expected. And what channel is the reporter then showing?
Eric Cardenas
Same thing. He has the Output 1-2 followed by the Surround Output.
IainPetrie
Yep - i had a surround instrument. Removing it did the trick. Many thanks Eric!
