concertjunkie6
I have a song with a lot of time signature changes, but as I'm prepping this project, I noticed that when I move the playhead to 29 3 1 which has the part I need to change the time signature on, the Time Signature List shows me the point where I can change the time signature is 29 1 1 . I can't change the beat in the List Editor, which throws off this process as I'm unable to accurately change time signatures here. I tried at different parts of the song, and it keeps rounding down the beat to 1 and can't change it! Is this a limitation of Logic or am I missing something? David Nahmani
It's not a limitation of Logic, it's the way musical notation works: you can't have a bar of 4/4 that has less than 4 quarter notes, since 4/4 means 4 quarter notes. Therefore you cannot have a time signature change on beat 3 of a 4/4 bar (assuming the key signature at bar 29 is 4/4). So the first thing you need to do is place your playhead at 29 1 1 1 and enter a bar of 2/4. This will allow you to have a time signature change on 30 1 1 1 which now corresponds to where 29 3 1 1 was before you created the bar of 2/4. Hope that helps.
