keano12
Hey guys, I saw a mix done from Slate Digital and everything went to a Trim Buss that fed into the Sub Buss where master plugins were placed. Like compressor for glue and limiter. This fed into the master. Is the point of the Trim Buss to control overall gain going into the Sub Buss? Not sure why to have it? Eric Cardenas
Yes. It's an easy way to control input going into the dynamic processing. It's probably just an old school mixer used to control this with a fader on his console. You can use the compressor's input gain or a separate gain plug-in first in the chain instead. Map it the gain to a fader or knob on your favourite controller and you get a much more hand on experience with less routing.

CLA did a mix of a song and Slates people created the same mix across Logic, Cubase etc for users to download. Funny to see CLA is not afraid of the red. Slamming somethings. I don't mean compression just into VCC.
