Can't get Zoom R8 to work in Logic Pro X

Hey guys, I recently made the switch from PC to iMac (so glad that I did) but I can't seem to get my Zoom R8 to work in this software. I can record and listen to audio through it just fine. But it doesn't appear to work as a control surface in the software at all. Can anyone help?

Also my Focusrite Safire Pro 24 randomly turns itself on and off (keep getting "NO HARDWARE DETECTED" messages) but that's a whole other matter.

By the way I'm new to Logic (still learning how to use the software)

Hi Val!

Click this link to your signature and add your system information:

• Logic version and sub-version (e.g. Logic Pro X 10.2.2)

• OS X version and sub-version (e.g. OS X El Capitan 10.11.3)

• Computer (e.g. MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, iMac)

• Processor (e.g. 2.2 GHz Intel i7)

• Memory (e.g. 8GB)

• Audio interface manufacturer and model (e.g. RME Babyface Pro)

(most of that information can be found by choosing Logic Pro X > About Logic Pro X, and  > About This Mac)
