How to Cut a Sample Exactly on the Bar

So I've been scouring the internet for an answer to this for the past day and a half with no avail so now I turn to you all. I recently switched over to Logic Pro X from FL studio and have been getting used to the myriad of differences between the two softwares. As a good way to acclimate myself, I have been attempting to make some mashups as I usually do. However, when I try to cut a 1 bar section of a sample to "roll" it I am unable to cut it exactly on the bar. For example, whenever I try to cut it I get 45 0 0 0. instead of 45 0 0 0 and for this reason my loop never stays on. I have also noticed however that in a 4 bar loop I can cut exactly to the bar. IF anyone has a solution to this, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

We'll need more details regarding your system. Click this link to your signature and add your system information:

• Logic version and sub-version (e.g. Logic 10.2.0)

• OS X version and sub-version (e.g. OS X 10.10.5)

• Computer (e.g. MacBook, Mac Pro, iMac)

• Processor (e.g. 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo)

• Memory (e.g. 8GB)

• Audio interface manufacturer and model (e.g. Presonus AudioBox USB)

• MIDI Controller manufacturer and model (e.g. M-Audio Axiom Pro 49)

(most of that information can be found by choosing Logic Pro X > About Logic Pro X, and  > About This Mac)

This can happen depending on the sample rate used in the project and the tempo you have specified.

Is there an easy way to rectify this then? Could I temporarily change project tempo or something? I'm working with aiff audio if that's helpful at all

You can try repeating the region rather than looping it in order to restart it exactly on the downbeat.

I tried that before, although it's more the idea of having something not quite on that bugs me than anything
