Make the SPL snap

Hi, this a probably a ridicilously basic question, but I wonder how you make the SPL snap to the grid when moving it around in the timeline? The snap settings seem to affect only the regions (e.g when you drag them) but I would like to be able to make the SPL snap to the grid too. E.g. when you want to copy/paste a region. I have to zoom in a lot to make sure that it is pasted in the right place in the grid.

If you are going to use the mouse to point to where you want to the spl to go, place it approximately in the right place then click and hold. When you hold that mouse click, it will snap to the closest grid line.

How in the hell did you ever find that one!!

That's great, I'll use it to death!!

If I hold the mouse click long enough, will it write the music for me too?

I found that one in a macprovideo I think..... Or I stumbled on it myself. Probably the former.

About holding the mouse and writing music, sure that will work as long as you like one really long note, or have a song programmed in the exs24 you can trigger....

LOL!!

That is the best tip I've ever heard! It was driving nuts that I couldn't get the SPL to snap. I couldn't understand why Logic wouldn't do something so basic. I asked around and all anybody ever said was that you have to ffwd/rwnd or type in numbers. Not good work arounds and there it was all the time right before my impatient eyes. Thanks

Keep in mind that it also depends on what you have your Signature set to...

Everybody has a different way of doing things and for me the RWD/ FF or enter Number method is more the necessity than a work around.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't mean your method wasn't good. It's just not what I'm used to coming from Pro Tools where in grid mode you click anywhere with the selector tool and the cursor will snap to the nearest value. Should have made that clear that the work around didn't work for me.
