Epictetus
i am relatively new so bare with me.... i have created a mutli-timbral Ultrabeat instrument for some beats. I am working off one piano roll to program the beats, i have a few issues; - when i enable the channel for record and start recording a simple kick drum it creates a overlapping midi region instead of overdubbing the main piano roll . It also ignores the collapsed midi note view and switches to the normal piano roll view. - i cannot re-order my mixer window and although this has been answered before. The answer doesn't work for me. If i create tracks from my channel strips and the reorder the tracks, my channel strips remain unphased I'm sure the above is somehow tied to me creating a muti-timbral ultrabeat instrument and no doubt the solution to a more efficient workflow is trivial.... thanks in advance

Check your MIDI Overlapping settings under Record > MIDI Overlapping > ....? i cannot re-order my mixer window and although this has been answered before. The answer doesn't work for me. Epictetus
MIDI issue - do you know what the settings need to be in order for the MIDI to record into the same MIDI clip that i am recording over? Channel Strip Reordering - you can see from the screenshot that i've created a track from my channel strip, i've then moved this but the channel strip stays put? David Nahmani
MIDI issue - do you know what the settings need to be in order for the MIDI to record into the same MIDI clip that i am recording over? It depends on your sub-version of LPX (in 10.2.2 it's called Merge). Click this link to your signature and add your system information: • Logic version and sub-version (e.g. Logic 10.2.0) • OS X version and sub-version (e.g. OS X 10.10.5) • Computer (e.g. MacBook, Mac Pro, iMac) • Processor (e.g. 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) • Memory (e.g. 8GB) • Audio interface manufacturer and model (e.g. Presonus AudioBox USB) • MIDI Controller manufacturer and model (e.g. M-Audio Axiom Pro 49) (most of that information can be found by choosing Logic Pro X > About Logic Pro X, and > About This Mac) Channel Strip Reordering - you can see from the screenshot that i've created a track from my channel strip, i've then moved this but the channel strip stays put? That's because in the Mixer, when View > Add Signal Flow Channel Strips is selected, channel strips that are outputs of a multi-output instrument are always displayed directly to the right of the multi-output instrument.
