How to load Logic 9 projects into Logic X

I just upgraded to Logic pro X and I need to convert a bunch of Logic 9 projects to Logic X. When I attempt to make a duplicate file to convert to Logic X, I get a message claiming the file doesn't exist. Then a followup message claiming the original file could not be opened. Help!!!

You don't have to duplicate any files.

Open the project in Logic Pro X and it will prompt you to save a new version of your project.

I did that exact procedure' date=' and the first message I got was:

Projects created in previous versions of Logic are not compatible with Logic Pro X. Click OK to save a duplicate project that has been converted to the Logic Pro X format.

So then I clicked OK and I was prompted to Save As: [song title']

Organize my project as a: [Folder]

Copy the following files into your project: [Audio files, EXS instruments and Samples]

Then I clicked OK again and I got this message:

The document “I'll Do Anything v.2” could not be saved as “I'll Do Anything v.2”. The file doesn’t exist.

I then got a couple progress bars that started out like the song was going to open, but they froze up and I got the message:

The document “I'll Do Anything v.2” could not be opened.

The only other thing I can think might be part of the problem is that Logic song files are on a separate hard drive from the system drive??

Thanks, Byron

I can easily open projects from v8 and save the as v10. Of course there usually a lot of routing issues, or missing plugins. But that's not the fault of Logic, but me :D

There seems to be another big issue in your case.

First try to save it without special characters like ' and an ending like .2

That was my first thought...
