Audio Lead-In When Punching-In Missing

Hello,

 

I have noticed that when i want to do a punch-in on a live audio track that I can't hear the sound on the audio track leading up to the punch-in point. My solution has been to create another audio track, do the punch-in section and either keep the short punch-in track or drag it into audio track I was doing the punch-in part for in the first place.

 

What am I missing?

Try selecting auto-input monitoring in the Record menu (top of your screen when in Logic)?

Hey David,

 

I have the Input-Monitoring box checked when I create the track. Are you referring to something that is different from that? I have Logic 9 and could not find the Record menu you speak of on the top of my Arrangement window screen.

Oops... In Logic 9, Choose Options > Audio > Auto Input Monitoring from the main menu bar (or use the Toggle Auto Input Monitoring key command).

My apologies for not replying sooner. I actually thought I had written a reply. I already had Auto Input Monitoring checked when this was occurring.

Are you punching on the fly or using auto punch?
