nixoblivion
I've had the problem, that i want to flex pitch a vocal region and the algorithm will detect most of the waveform, but there will be some parts of the waveform where flex pitch will not insert a bar. This way i cant adjust the pitch or level etc of that part of the waveform. i've had this with whisper vocal parts. this is fine for me, since i expect the algorithm can't detect the difference between the whisper and breathing or such. But now i found a part where the waveform not being detected is at the same "volume" as the rest that is being detected. Is there a way to make flex pitch detect parts? i've tried the pencil tool, but this always gives me extreme glitches that sound terrible! Using the scissor tool works in cutting the bar, but it doesn't add another bar for the note/waveform i need.
thinwire
I've just discovered this problem. I realised it doesn't detect these breathy/consonant parts of the audio when I wanted to try and use Flex Pitch as a De-Esser, like they do in Melodyne - where you turn down just the 'esses' and pops. I was really disappointed to discover Flex doesn't seem to detect these. Does anyone have any information on this? Did you sort the problem out nixoblivion? steveLpx1
...similarly to melodyne...cut/separate the "non-curved" part of the "block/blob" off and then lower the gain on that...the two plugs are actually very much the same in function...but look/work very differently...I use both every day but it took awhile to learn/figure out which to choose...hth.../s~
