Battery3 programming a drum pattern

elastic

Recommended Posts

Hi people, just got battery3, my first time using battery, have viewed tutorials and got my head in the book, but i was wondering how do i program my own beat pattern?

I am used to using the step sequencer in Redrum in Reason3......Is there anything similar to this in battery?

I am basically looking to see how i would go about programming a kick drum, hihats, claps etc...basically my own drum pattern.

Is there anyway i could get a step sequencer to work with battery3? like an external one or maybe there is one in logic and i am missing the point?

Any help would be very appreciated,

Thankyou

IF you're really addicted to step sequncing, Ultrabeat, which is included in Logic Pro, has a step sequncer.

or

you could approach using the midi/matrix editor as a big step sequencer with no end to how long you parts can be. When you're done, just copy and paste or loop in the arrange view.

1. Create a blank region for the intended number of bars.

2. Open an editor, probably the Matrix and the Step Input Keyboard for choosing note length, velocity, etc.

3. Make sure Midi In (red) is toggled on.

4. From either your controller or the Step Input Keyboard fire away.
