Matrix editor question

I'm trying to change the velocity of a note in the matrix editor but when doing so nothing happens. From 127 to 10 I still get the same volume. Does anyone have an idea on what am I doing wrong?

Some instruments are not velocity sensitive. What instrument are you using?

I'm trying to edit a drum roll, to answer your question toms from the GM standard kit.

I've been having this same problem before with the piano cause sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't work.

What GM standard kit? GM is not an instrument, it is a standard for many instruments, like MIDI. For example, most EXS24, GarageBand and Ultrabeat kits are GM standard kits.

Check the various velocity sensitivity settings on the EXS maybe?

If that's the case, there are two level sliders in the EXS24. Lower the lower one (which corresponds to minimum velocity) and raise the higher one (which corresponds to max vel).

Exacly, factory Sampler Instument in ultrabeat from the EXS24.

What I did was I oped the finder then drag the file from factory Sampler Instument under Drum Kits called "GM Standard Kit.exs" into a cell in ultrabeat & then created a region in the arrange window, in the matrix editor I pencil in the notes.

I've been strugling with this for some time now.

OK, then for Ultrabeat it's different. (Understand now why I needed the information? )

 

On the voice volume knob (middle right of the GUI for the selected voice), lower the volume button, and raise the green cursor.

Got it david,

I had to do one more step to make the green cursor visible, click hold the off & change it to vel.
