elastic
hi, everything is nearly perfect now in battery3, just one thing, i have selected in battery3 options to have 16 stereo outputs, but when i go to my auxilary channels and select i/o it comes up with instrument1 (battery3) and only 11 available stereo outputs - 3-4,4-5 etc up to 23-24.... when it should be up to 31-32..... i can select sounds in battery to be outputed as stereo 31-32 or any stereo pair under that, but like i say, when i got to my mixer in logic, it only lets me select up to stereo 23-24. how do i get the other stereo pairs from 23-24 and upwards into my auxilary channels? Help would be really appreciated, thank you

David Nahmani
I don't own Battery but just checked with BFD and can get 32 outputs accessed through Aux channels. I never use that many of course... I'm not sure what your problem could be... or whether it's a Logic or a Battery problem. Try to post the same question in a Battery forum? And make sure you have the latest version for your computer, and it properly passes AU validation?
elastic
thanks, i have posted in the battery forum on NI's site, what does AU validation mean and how do i know if i pass it? thanks for your help
David Nahmani
Logic Pro > Preferences > Start Logic AU Manager. That's Apple's way of checking that any 3rd party plug-in conform to the AU (Audio Unit) standard they are using for plug-ins.
David Nahmani
PS: and what happens if you try 32 mono outputs? (if that even possible in Battery 3)
elastic
it has a check mark next to bettery3 in the au manager, so i guess it is ok, i will try 32 mono outputs in 15mins time, i just have to take a fone call

elastic
i selected in batterys options to have 1 stereo and 30 mono, thats the max it would let me (although when i go to the output section it does say there are 32 mono outputs available) but anyway.... it still only gives me 24 mono outputs in the aux channel strip, i still couldnt get from 25 - 32 mono, but like i say, they are available in battery. im really lost as to what to do
David Nahmani
Now you need help from someone who had Battery 3 installed to see if they have the same behavior or if it's only on your system. Anyone around with Battery 3?
elastic
damn, i dont know anyone with battery3 and the native instruments battery forum is slow, i dont get many responses from there. im going to see if theres a help line for battery3 or NI products and keep playing around myself, i'll also try logging in under my test account on here and see if it does it on that account. worth a try i suppose, its like for some reason it is just letting me select 12 stereo outputs or 24 mono outputs in the aux channel strip. David Nahmani
That's a good idea, and I would contact NI support asking them if it's a known issue or if you're the only one with that problem. Meanwhile you can try the usual troubleshooting: quit Logic, move ~/Library/Preferences/Logic/com.apple.logic.pro to the desktop and restart. elastic
i tried it in my test account, but it hung when opening when trying to initialize battery3, so i went back to my normal account and tried removing that file com.apple.logic.pro but on mine the file was called com.apple.logic.pro.cs - i removed this and when i started logic, it loaded ok but when i went to select battery3 it said it couldnt find its installation folder and asked me to choose one, so i clicked cancel and it just said battery3 could not be found or something..... very strange
David Nahmani
tried removing that file com.apple.logic.pro but on mine the file was called com.apple.logic.pro.cs That's not the same file. The '.cs' one is for control surface preferences. Try to quit Logic, locate com.apple.logic.pro and move it to the desktop, restart, and you can do Logic Pro > Preferences > Start Logic AU Manager to make sure your Battery plug-in is checked. elastic
i found the file but it has a logic icon and on the icon it says prefs, i removed it to the desktop anyway and started logic, and it said please select an audio interface to use, so i enabled core audio and then it said the previiusly selected audio drivers were not found or something so it continued anyway and i had 3 audio tracks and no audio instrument tracks and a bunch of general midi tracks, so i just quit it
David Nahmani
That's normal, you just trashed your preferences so it opens a default song and asks you to choose an audio interface. You can go into Logic Pro > Preferences > Global > Song Handling and change what happens at startup.
elastic
well ive just used application zapper to remove battery3, i left the soundbanks in, so im going to try reinstalling it and see what happens if its still the same im thinking i'll just have to use 2 battery3 instruments if i want more than 12 stereo outputs from the one... PGMM
Hi I have the same behaviour as you with Battery 3 in Logic 7.2.3 And I can reproduce it Cubase4, so this is a Battery 3 issue.
elastic
ahhh very interesting, thank you for your feedback, i have reinstalled battery3, tried it in a different account and it was still the same so you have just totally confirmed it for me. i hope they release an update for this asap. i guess we'll have to keep checking the Native instruments service centre to check for updates
hc4zrr324
Hey I know this thread is over 4 years old but I'm having the same problem but with Battery v3.2.3 and Logic 9.1.7 on OSX 10.7.4. Has anyone found a solution or updates? Thanks!
