Tailing Reverb in Time-restricted situations

Recommended Posts

I compose jingles. I use Logic X. I cannot afford to have tail on most of the work as they are tightly timed. 20 seconds means always 20 seconds or a few milliseconds less. So there is no breathing space for the reverb (especially for the reverb added on the mixed track). What I do is fade the mix in the end and use automation to pull down volume to rock bottom). While programming I do ensure I close things before-hand but master the reverb (i use hall reverb presets in space-designer 1.5+ seconds) always goes beyond the length. I did not encounter any problems except if the programmed beat itself has a delay and things get cut abruptly (which is a production mistake anyway).

What do you recommend? Any other usual best practices?
