Audio Track Editor vs Main Window

This may have changed in 10.2.4 (vs 10.2.2 that I keep using so far) but Flex Pitch provides you with a lot more handles on Flexed note in the ATE (start and end pitch drift, vibrato, pitch deviation, gain, formant shift) than in the main window, where basically only pitch deviation is editable.

The tools have definitely changed in 10.2.3 and up.

You can pretty much do everything from the Main tracks area now.

It all depends on what you want to do. The Audio Track Editor has a lot of fancy scale quantizing, pitch, and gain faders.

There are also an option to convert to MIDI.

The tracks area shines because you can see several tracks at once which is desirable when lining up stems
