Dragging regions [FIXED?]

I've recently encountered a very frustrating bug within Logic Pro X. Often times, one of the tracks within a project fails to work when I drag regions within that track, and tends to drag that region to other tracks. The problem is fixed when I quit Logic and restart. It must also be noted that the region moves as normal for the first few drags but then goes all funny again. Please help!

I would like to add to this by saying I have also been dealing with this issue for some time now as well.  If memory serves me correct, it started happening just after the public release of Sierra, which I, regretfully, upgraded to at the time.

I tried absolutely everything within Logic, testing countless research attempts to fix this error, however, I could not solve the issue.

Thinking it was something with my Mac (Mac specs mentioned at the end of post), I even reformatted it completely.  Sadly, it was unsuccessful at fixing the issue.

At this point, I truly believe that it is currently some sort of bug that the Devs need to workout. Or I'm just completely missing something obvious.  The latter wouldn't surprise me....

I do have the whole Komplete Select Suite installed and enable in Logic.  Though, sadly, I haven't seen an update from NI in a while, but I don't think its an issue on their end.

If anyone can shed a spec of light on this issue, or fix, you would be a rockstar.

Specs:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)

Processor - 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory - 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB

macOS Sierra - Version 10.12.1

Logic Pro X - 10.2.4

I too have spent days now attempting to alleviate this bug, but to no avail. It is a tremendous relief knowing that I am not the only one facing this issue, though solutions are what we need at this juncture. I only run Logic X on my system, and have re-installed the OS in the hope that it would remedy the problem, but that didn't help either. I suppose we have to wait until an update is made available. Does anybody know if one is around the corner? Agreed: Sierra is the most likely culprit, because I recall the issue having emerged immediately after installation, with no changes having been made within Logic on my part.

Logic Pro X Version 10.2.4

Hello! I think this might be the only place on english-speaking internet where this problem is being discussed. I have been struggling with this since I had installed Sierra. My regions either won't move at all or jump to a random place far from where I want them to be. Sometimes you can click and drag it by the "body" of a region, not it's "headline" (or vice versa) and it will work. Nevertheless, doing this or cutting and pasting the region many times is devastating. This problem isn't solved and it needs to be. This is my first day on the forum; is there some kind of a responsive tech support that we all could send a letter to?

Thanks everyone :)

+1 on this bug, I'm about to throw my MacBook across the room right now.

[EDIT] I just now opened the problematic track in the Editor and was able to move regions normally. Also, when I tried in the Arrangement pane again, it worked normally. I don't know if this is a workaround-- I haven't tried it multiple times when this happens, but it's something for you to try.

That's helpful, thanks! Doesn't always work when you go back to the Arrangement pane; still works in the Editor though. Ugh!

I'm also having this incredibly annoying problem. Whether I use the trackpad or the mouse, some regions just decide to jump sporadically around the session when I try to click and drag. Anyone have this issue solved? I've tried changing my snap settings and drag settings (and actually I've troubleshot to the moon and back). It's actually a glitch I guess?

Save, quit Logic, then reopen. Wash, rinse, repeat. That's the only work around I've discovered.

Almost the same thing but not really .

On a very fresh song with 10.3, copy work as expected.

With a song made under 10.2.4, a copy jump half a measure beside the position I pointed.

Drag copy as an alias work fine.

I'm under El capitan with fresh install 4 days ago .

Some weird things when launching old songs from 10.2.4 ( telling that some plugs are missing, but they are in place ... )

Another test .

Loading a fresh template.

Importing a midi track from the same old song (10.2.4 ). Only content, no plugs.

Copying a region . Don't go to the desire place.

Closing the song and keeping LPX on ( no quit )

Same fresh template ( build under 10.3 )

Recording some midi.

Copying work fine ...

If it stay like this, it means that working on a new track will be cool .

Working on old songs will be a pain :/

EDIT : a step further on this test .

On the fresh song with region recorded, where all is fine .

Importing a midi track from the old song.

Now all the copy goes weird. Including with the region recorded just before.

Undoing the import. (Control Z).

All is fine again ....

EDIT 2 : Only workaround -> export midi file and import in the fresh song. A pain but it works ....

I found a way, When region drag does not move, choose another screenset, exampe select secreent set 3 after go to back main screetset 1, It's improving when you do this

it works but not very long.

Some more actions and will have to again swap screenset, and again, again, again every few minutes.
