kerochan
Ok, I dont need a mixer. But when anyone comes to mix or whatever at my place they are dissapointed to see no physical mixer. I mix ITB so I dont need one but it would be nice to have a 24 fader one for mixing on from time to time, not tracking. My interface only has 2 outputs and 2 inputs. So I guess I would need a mixer with and interface for mixing? I can then switch between interfaces. Any pointers please? I know a mixer isnt needed, but if I booked a studio and saw they didnt have one I would walk out! So I agree with any clienrs.
stardustmedia
There are many possibilities, depending on your budget. It goes easily up to a couple millions What is your budget? BTW: You could also go for cool controllers that look like mixers, but you still work ITB. I think this would be better than actually mixing OTB, if your budget is small. Low-budget mixer won't sound good.

stardustmedia
...but it starts at $ 24.99... https://www.sweetwater.com/c125--Analog_Mixers/low2high LOL ... unbelievable... But really, don't go that way. This is not worth for "real" mixing. Maybe good enough for a live band in a crappy restaurant, where they play elevator music nobody cares about I'm very happy with this, and the sound is great: SSL X-Desk http://www2.solidstatelogic.com/studio/x-desk#&panel1-1 If you need more channels, expand with the X-Panda: http://www2.solidstatelogic.com/news/ssl-announce-release-new-x-panda-24-channel-superanalogue-mixer-messe-2011 I think they go used for very good prices nowadays. Or get a good controller, like: http://www.avid.com/products/artist-mix
Eriksimon
Hey there, keep it civil Murat! I was just joking, as Kerochan mainly seems to want sliders 'n sjit to impress visitors; so maybe he should shop for a totalled 16 or 24 or 48 or more channel mixer for a tenner, and just "display" it to impress, not to actually use it. Keep some of the innards on display, as to "explain" why it isn't used...

kerochan
you can chain them Yes thats true, though I don't like the concept or look, in this instance the look is paramount, I probably would never use it anyway, mouse, track pad and keyboard are fine by me
bigbuddha23
get a motorised control surface which interfaces with the software, and reflects the in the box position of the software faders. i have a Tascam US2400 control surface with motorised faders and it gives fader, panning and automation control for the DAW, and also transport controls like record, stop, play etc. its actually quite useful and generally is quicker and easier than a mouse. i run it with Cubase and its great. i haven't set up it up with logic so don't know if it works well with logic. also only buy stuff if you need it or like it. pointless buying things just to impress someone..... That's a ridiculous statement, but I get it. Before I switched to Mac, I had a director come to my studio to hear a few cues I wrote for his film, and he was shocked that I wasn't using a Mac with Pro Tools! He couldn't get his head around the fact that I had used Cubase and Windows, and though I was joking. It's funny how visuals make a huge impression.
