Presto
Having trouble with ESX24 for some period. Any sample that I slice and load to ESX24 has that crackling sound at the beginning and at the end of each sample. Just like on the video, I played some of them there. But the samples itself aren't corrupted, and if I play them separately and even being sliced they are good and there are no such sounds. Tried to use Fade In/Out - don't work, sounds remained. Tried to use Fade parameter which is in ESX24 "Sample" section, but when I change the number from 0 to any other - it doesn't play samples at all. Tried to increase buffer size as well - same result. What else can I do?
danyg
maybe you have the release time of the EXS set to 0. Try a higher value.

Would be happy to check and help (if possible) 1.logicx.zip We can hear it clearly when it pitched down and volume bumped. I just heard it. The only thing I can think of, since not all samples do that, is that since it's a continuous file, Logic cut some samples in the middle of a cycle and that's why you have that click. My suggestion would be to select all regions, then right click one of them and choose Convert > Convert To New Audio Files. Then open each one of them and add a short fade in and fade out, enough to keep the original sound the way it is, but to cut those clicks. Hope it makes sense. Also, when you have an EXS24, sometimes you should uncheck the 1shot option so it only plays the sample when you play the key, but stops when you release it. To make it then sound more natural, you can change the Release parameter.

The 1shot option deleting clicks in the end but not in start. One thing I realized that if I raise "Anchor" up to like 100, the clicks from start becomes less visible. 3ple
You have to apply the fade in and fade out to the audio files not to the regions. The fade in and fade out in a region are not applied to the audio and that's why it's not doing anything when you drag them to the EXS24 again. The 1shot has nothing to do with the clicks. I just pointed that out because on the file you sent me all of them were with the option checked so when you play them it becomes a mess because they overlap each other. The anchor point is just where the audio starts. If you apply the fade in and fade out in the audio file properly you won't need to mess up with the anchor. You will actually undo it, which is not what you want. Let me know if that was clear

Good to know! Next time you face the same problem, you will know right away what's causing that. Glad I could help! Now go make amazing music
