Artlowell
I'm noticing that in a long region, there will be notes dropping out here and there. Most often, all the drop-outs are in the same region. My solution has been to create a new region on a different track, isolate a region with the notes that are dropping out, and hand-copy the offending notes into the new region. Then, replace the old region with the new one. It always works, and I have never found a a different fix. Is this just a flaw in Logic? Is there a less tedious way to make these repairs? paulcristo
Have you tried breaking up the region into smaller chunks? It might be as simple as the longer region is dropping notes.
Artlowell
That"s exactly what I'm doing when I isolate the notes that are dropping out. It never solves the problem. I'm hoping it isn't a dead spot in my hard drive, but I don't think so. When I click on the bad note in the piano roll, it sounds just like it should. I've also tried eliminating all controller events surrounding the bad note. No luck with that. either. as I've said, replacing that portion of the region with a fresh patch always seems to work. paulcristo
Might be polyphony of the software instrument you're using. If you're playing back a bunch of notes along with the pedal it can quickly exhaust your polyphony.
Artlowell
Probably not. These notes are almost(?) always single notes in a region. Replacing that short region with a fresh patch always works, but it's quite a bit of work.
paulcristo
Is it a software instrument track? If so, which instrument are you using?
Artlowell
Yeah. It's a software instrument. In this case, the Friedlander Violin by Embertone. I'm using that instrument on another track as well, and I just had to make the same repair on that one, too. (Actually, I'm getting kind of good at it, and this last repair didn't take too long at all).
paulcristo
Does this happen only with the Violin? It could be a corrupted NKI file. Can you re-download and install the instrument?
Artlowell
Same for the track with Embertone's cello, only not nearly as much. Just one spot in this project.
paulcristo
I've got nothing. Maybe related to Embertone instruments?
TimeForMusic
I'm having this issue as well. Any fixes?
