Can non automable parameters be reached by controllers?

I've discovered that some parameters in 3rd party plugins like Arturia will not write automation. Especially buttons in my Arturias will mostly not write automation when pressed. Does this also mean that these parameters can not be shown and controlled in controllers with displays, like Avid Artist Mix or Nektar Panorama?

 

I certainly have problems getting them to show in my controllers but I now the CSparameterorder.plist might play a role here also.

Correct a control must be automatable to be mapped to external controllers.
