GCritchley
Is there one? So I don't have to try repeated attempts of commands that are already taken? I would LOVE a list of "available" commands for unpaired tasks. Anyone? - thanks!!

GCritchley
Thanks Plowman (I didn't ever get a notification what you responded - just randomly checked). Anyway - yes, that shows un-assigned KCs, but not what actual key combinations are available to assign.
Plowman
Now I understand. No, I'm not aware of any list of key characters and modifiers that wait to be employed. The Function keys are uniformly available to the user, and all modifier combinations thereof -- none are used by the defaults. But I'm sure you know that, and the F keys will never have that alphabetical hint as to their assignment. Break out the post-it notes. Regarding the alphabetical candidates, perhaps a song by Ian Hunter says it best: "All of the Good Ones Are Taken," though he probably wasn't referring to key commands. Cheers.
