Logic locked out of itself

For reasons I'm unable to discern, Logic will get halfway locked out of itself.  The Command-~ won't work for switching windows, the Save, Close, and Quit menu items are grayed out, etc.  Logic will constantly be giving the screen flash feedback as though there were a hidden save dialogue open or something, even though there isn't.  I can still click around the and operate the program but only with the mouse.

 

Any ideas what's happening here?

Perhaps it's related to the (Mac) system / Logic keyboard language in use discrepancy. 

I.e. if your system is set to be typing french language for typing text (with its accents) and Logic key commands are set to use the english language, the errors prompts (screen flashes) you describe are bound to happen, as Logic does not recognise the foreing language key commands. If that is the cause of your issue, switching your system keyboard language to Logic's one (english) should normally solve same.

There could be other issues as well...

 

Does that happen all the time, regardless of the project/template used?

If so, following steps 6 & 7 (Using Logic on another user account on your Mac / Resetting Logic's preferences) from this troubleshoot guide could help...
